“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” – Proverbs 27:12 (NIV)
Discernment isn’t paranoia. It’s protection.
There’s wisdom in knowing when to pause, when to pivot, and when to walk away. Sometimes, the most spiritual thing you can do is pay attention. God doesn’t just speak through dreams and miracles—He often whispers through patterns, people, and inner promptings.
Today, don’t ignore the red flags just because they’re wrapped in charm or opportunity. Don’t keep going simply because it’s familiar. The prudent don’t wait for the pain to confirm the warning—they take refuge in obedience.
It’s not fear—it’s foresight. And foresight is a gift.
If something feels off, you don’t need every detail to act. You just need the courage to listen.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to be prudent and discerning. Open my eyes to the traps I can’t yet see and give me the strength to walk away when necessary. Help me to trust Your prompts, even when they don’t make sense in the moment.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
