Prophetic Proverb: Love

“Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred.” – Proverbs 15:17 (NIV)

What you build love on matters more than what it looks like from the outside.
A relationship overflowing with gifts, grand gestures, and Instagram-worthy moments means little if love is not truly present. God’s wisdom reminds us that peace and genuine affection are more valuable than any external display of abundance.
Today’s prophetic word is this: don’t trade simplicity rooted in love for luxury laced with tension.
If you’re in a season of waiting, wondering when love will come or whether what you have is real—look beyond appearances. Ask:
Is there peace here?
Is there kindness?
Do we serve one another with joy, even in the mundane?
Because love, real love, lives in the quiet sacrifices, not just the public celebrations.
God’s standard for love is substance, not spectacle.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to desire relationships built on Your truth, not on appearance or performance. Teach me to recognise real love—the kind that reflects Your heart. Whether in friendship, family, or romance, let my connections be rooted in peace, humility, and honesty. In Jesus’ name, amen.
